PBDW Architects invites you to explore their studio, learn about their design and preservation practices, and reflect on 60 years of work in New York City and beyond. An evening to gather with friends and colleagues to discuss projects that focus on preservation, adaptive reuse, new builds, and sustainability over drinks and aperitivo. A rare opportunity to learn more about iconic projects such as Powerhouse Arts, Sotheby’s, Palace Theatre and Park Avenue Armory.

Event Leaders
Anne Holford-Smith has over 35 years of experience practicing architecture and has been a Partner at PBDW since 2017. Anne has special expertise in the renovation of existing and historic buildings as well as new construction, and has extensive technical knowledge of exterior building construction. She has worked on many of PBDW’s key projects and applied her expertise to complex cast iron and masonry facade restoration, to new buildings built to Passive House standards, and traditional masonry construction. Anne served as a Commissioner on the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission from 2018 to 2024 and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Preservation League of New York State.
Brigitte Cook has been with PBDW since 2008 and an Associate Partner since 2025. She has experience in adaptive reuse, architectural design, and historic preservation. During her career she has managed complex cultural and educational projects, integrating new design and technologies into significant historic institutions. Recent important projects include Sotheby’s, Palace Theatre, and the New York Historical. Brigitte has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, and served as secretary on the board of APTNE from 2019-2026.
